In 2004 in N.B., 333 of 1,115 members of boards and commissions appointed by the provincial government were women:
2004 30%
2003 29% (475 /1,644)
1996 30%
1982 18%
In Regional Health Authorities, 38% (40/104) of government-appointed members are women, ranging from 20% for Region 7 Miramichi, to 47% for Region 4 Edmundston.

Noted for lack of improvement:
- Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission Board of Directors: 2 women and 9 men (18%);
- Advisory Committee of the Political Process Financing Act: 1 woman and 7 men (13%).
- Regional Development Corp. Bd of Directors: 2 women and 11 men (15%, compared to 12% in 1996).
- Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification Board: 1 woman and 8 men (11%, down from 14% in 1996)

Noted for significant improvement:
- Atlantic Provinces Special Education Authority Board of Directors: 71% in 2004 (10/14), the same as in 2003 but up from 13% in 1996.
- Judicial Council: 38% (3/8) in 2004, up from 25% in 2003 and 11% in 1996.
